Introduction

Language skills are important to the children and it is known that the cultural components are transmitted to generation to other generation in only tool that the language Telugu.

In our state more population speaks in Telugu and schools 1st language is Telugu, 1st language in High Schools more over Telugu language is core subject in High School. It is essential inculcate language skills among the students so that SCERT launched department of Telugu in the March 3rd 2009.

Objectives of Department

1. To inculcate language skills among children.
2. To create interest among the children
3. To prepare the curriculum from I to X class i.e. textbooks
4. To review of content related the comments and appear regarding the modification.
5. To build the capacity among the teachers like in-service training and pre-service.
6. To participate in Telugu language development programmes.
7. To give orientation programmes to the Sanskrit language Pandits and teachers.
8. To study and conduct small scale researches regarding the curriculum preparation and give suggestions in the preparation of curriculum.
9. To give suggestion in new textbooks of primary classes I,III,V etc.,
10. To visit the schools to observe the Telugu teaching classes.
11. To coordinate in other departments to the SCERT.
12. To participate and give suggestions institutions like CTE, IASE, DIETs regarding of Telugu teaching learning process.
13. To participate other wing programmmes regarding language development.
