POPULATION EDUCATION / ADOLESCENCE EDUCATION

Introduction:

Population Education Cell was established in 1981 at SCERT with the financial assistance of United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA). This cell was re-designated as ‘Adolescence Education Cell’ in July 2006, as per the guidelines of the NCERT New Delhi to implement the activities of both Adolescence Education and Population Education programmes.

This Programme is being implemented with the financial support by the MHRD, NACO and UNICEF in coordination with APSACS under the guidance of NCERT.

Functions of the Department:

Development of material for Advocacy and trainings.

Organizing Advocacy Programme for field functionaries, Headmasters, Parents and community leaders.

Organizing Training Programmes for teacher educators, State Resource Persons and teachers.

Organizing Co-Curricular activities for development of life skills in students.
Monitoring the activities.

Evaluation Studies on the impact of activities organized.

Publication of news letter and the material on population Education and Adolescence Education.
